Privacy Policy
Intelligence Foundry (“we”, “us”, “our”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA). This policy explains what we collect through this website, why, and what your rights are.
Who we are
Intelligence Foundry is an AI software and consulting business based in South Africa. For the purposes of POPIA, we are the responsible party for the personal information described in this policy. Our Information Officer is Stephen Earle, who can be reached at hello@townconnect.co.za.
What information we collect
- Information you give us — such as your name, email address, telephone number, company name and the contents of your message — when you email us, book a consultation, or otherwise get in touch.
- Basic technical information — our website host and email provider automatically process standard data (such as IP address and browser type) needed to deliver and secure the service.
We do not use analytics software on this website. We do use one advertising measurement tool, the Meta pixel, which is described below.
Measuring our adverts
When we run an advert on Facebook or Instagram, we need to know whether the people who clicked it actually did anything useful when they arrived. For that we use the Meta pixel, a small piece of code from Meta Platforms Ireland Limited that runs on this site.
It records which of our pages you looked at, whether you ran a free check, the score that check produced, and whether you asked for a paid audit. That is all it is for: telling us which adverts bring people who find the tool useful.
It does not send your name, your email address, your telephone number, anything you typed into the audit form, or the website address you asked us to check. The score and the broad result band are the only things about your check that reach Meta. We have also turned off Meta’s automatic matching feature, which would otherwise read data out of forms on the page.
Meta is the recipient of that information and processes it under its own terms — see Meta’s privacy policy. If you would rather not be measured this way you can block it in your browser’s settings or with a tracker-blocking extension, and you can control how Meta uses your activity for advertising in your Meta ad preferences. Blocking it does not affect the free check in any way — it will run exactly the same.
Why we use it
We process your personal information to respond to your enquiry, to provide or quote on services you ask about, to perform any agreement with you, and to comply with our legal obligations. We rely on your consent, our legitimate interests, and/or the need to take steps at your request before entering into a contract, as permitted by POPIA.
Sharing your information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with trusted service providers who process it on our behalf (for example, our website host, our email provider, and Meta for the advertising measurement described above), and where we are required to do so by law.
Information processed outside South Africa
Some of our service providers, including our website host, may store or process information outside South Africa. Where this happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure your information continues to receive a level of protection consistent with POPIA.
How long we keep it
We keep personal information only for as long as necessary for the purpose it was collected, or as required by law, after which we delete or de-identify it.
How we protect it
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to safeguard personal information against loss, misuse and unauthorised access.
Your rights
Under POPIA you have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to its processing, and to withdraw any consent you have given. To exercise these rights, contact our Information Officer at hello@townconnect.co.za.
If you believe we have not handled your information properly, you may lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (South Africa). Details are available at inforegulator.org.za.
Children
This website is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always appear on this page, with the date it was last updated.
